Sounds Incorporated started trading in 1988, initially selling disco equipment to local DJ’s from the back room of a town centre record shop. The business grew quickly and very soon larger premises were required. In early 1990 we moved into our very own premises. At the time this seemed heavenly. It had a small car park and much more floor space to display the ever expanding product range. Sales staff were employed and the addition of a small workshop allowed us to carry out small repairs. With the help of part time staff we were able to begin our installation service, fitting sound and lighting in local pubs and clubs.
After continued growth it was decided in 1994 that more space was required, so the whole interior of the shop was removed and tons of soil taken from the cellar to accommodate new offices and a larger workshop. A part time engineer was employed which allowed us to manufacture, design and modify aerobic equipment. At this time we also started selling karaoke equipment with some success. All the while the company was expanding and outgrew its first premises. A two year search for the ideal new building ended in late 1998.
The move in December 1998 brought about the next phase in our expansion plan. We employed a full time service engineer and a full time installation engineer, enabling us to keep pace with ever increasing demand from both our retail and installation customers. We have a wider range of products available than ever before and hold main dealer accounts with the likes of Peavey, Denon, Gemini, Kam, NJD, Abstract, Citronic, & Numark, to name but a few. In fact whatever you’re looking for we are sure we can get it.
Our showroom has free parking outside the door and is easily accessible from the M62, A1 & M18. Our central location means that we can offer our installation service nationwide, often beating our southern competitors due to lower overheads.
