Sounds Incorporated was founded by John Dixon and started trading in 1988, initially selling disco equipment to local DJ’s from the back room of a town centre record shop. The business grew quickly and in early 1990 we moved into our very own premises. For the first time sales staff were employed and with the help of part time staff we were able to begin our installation service, fitting sound and lighting in local pubs and clubs.
In 1994 we made the conscious decision to diversify. We looked at what other solutions our product range could offer and started to supply factory PA & sound systems for Gym's, studio's and health clubs. We also began for the first time to design our own sound systems, for aerobics and dance instructors. All the while the company was expanding and in late 1998 employed a full time installation engineer, enabling us to keep pace with ever increasing demand from both our retail and installation customers.
Sounds Incorporated is still owned today by John who's principles remain the same, to offer value for money and to solve your problems in a cost effective way. John still deals directly with customers on a daily basis and is just as likely to be making you a cup of tea as you browse, or in the office going over the accounts. We believe that keeping our feet firmly on the ground and listening to our customers enables us to stock the right products and offer the customer service that you want. This principle runs right through the business from top to bottom.
Steve started working for Sounds Incorporated in 1993, his first job after leaving college. Today he is our point man. However you choose to contact us, principally Steve will be the man taking your initial enquiry. He offers a mix of professionalism and dedication with a quirky sense of humour. Let's face it we all want to enjoy work and Steve likes to bring the jokes. In this modern world does anyone really want to be sold to buy a stuffy bloke in a suit? Thought not!
